【いちもじにみつぼし】月星紋。 毛利氏は一門分かれて長門萩・府中・清末・周防徳山の四家となり、ともに本紋には沢瀉、替紋に一文字三星を用いていた。そして、沢瀉は花と蕾によって、一文字三星は一文字の形状によって、四家を区別したのである(沼田頼輔著「日本紋章学」) 今回の図案は、毛利邸(邸宅の一部が毛利博物館となっている)玄関を入った所に掲げられた毛利家の家紋一覧を参考に作図したものです。 呼称は右から順に、長門三つ星、徳山三つ星、府中三つ星(長府三つ星)、清末三つ星。
