On 12 - 05 - 2024 this fine art Old Masters painting now some 555 years old sold at auction for $11 MILLION US, with fees a total $12.75 MILLION US ... triple the pre auction estimate.
When I saw another similar c. 1470 Botticelli painting called Madonna and Child Enthroned with Six Saints and saw that painting did have the brighter Lapis Lazuli Ultra Marine Blue paint over the black undercoat of Mary's robe, then I tried to get a look more like this brighter blue with more contrast. Again, with apologies to Sandro Botticelli. Still dark blue background.
