1880 Maw & Co Transferware Victorian Daffodil Tile
Maw & Co. was founded in 1850 by George and Arthur Maw. By 1883 the British company had become the largest tile producer in the world, making more than 20 million tiles a year. More known today for their encaustic tiles, this is a copy of one of our favorite ceramic tiles - a rare hand-colored tile with daffodils and a butterfly. Use it for coasters, trivets, wall tiles, or gifts. It looks great displayed on a small easel.
