18 Ancient Roman 18th Legion - Eagle T-Shirt

18 Ancient Roman 18th Legion - Eagle T-Shirt

Very little is known of this Legion. The Roman Governor Spinther used an 18th Legion in Cilicia in 56-53, and Julius Caesar used an 18th in the Civil War with Pompey, but it's uncertain whether or not these were the same unit, or whether it's the same 18th of later years. Octavian founded an 18th after the Battle of Philippi, using it as one of many to put down the rebel pirate Sextus Pompeius and restore Rome's grain supply. The 18th, along with the 17th and 19th, was destroyed in the Tuetoburg Forest disaster in 9 AD. Its eagle standards would be recovered during the reigns of Tiberius and Caligula.

Value T-Shirt, Black, Adult S
My 11 yo wore adult XL (5’7” 165#). The 8yo is small framed. She wore adult small and tied it in the back. Dark haired male wore adult large and 5’9”, 110# female wore adult medium . Good quality dark Heather gray, Gildan brand shirt. -it was next up from basic choice and cost about $20 per shirt. Not too thick or thin. Washed and dried well, no major shrinkage. Not see-through. Can wear a bra under it fine. Screen print is just as shown and well done, front and back.
