1930s Japanese game card print Medium Gift Bag

I wish I knew the name of this game, and how it was played. Five of the characters are animals: duck, dog, gorilla, rabbit, mouse. The rest are people, going under the names ‘Roppa,’ ‘American Soldier,’ ‘Gigisu,’ ‘Popai,’ ‘Enoken,’ ‘Magician,’ and Anonenu Ossan.’ Each character’s name is show in the Roman alphabet at the top, and in what looks like Japanese at the bottom. Was this a way of teaching English? We may never know. What is sure, however is that this looks really neato on all kinds of EVERYTHING, including gift bags. Wanna see more old?
