About This Design

1-sided International Nurses Day Garden Flag

1-sided International Nurses Day Garden Flag

No "Thank You!" is grand enough for the nurses who are putting their lives on the line during the current pandemic, but placing a flag on your front lawn to express your gratitude for all the world to see makes a good start! Show your support for these brave women and men with an International Nurses Day garden flag! International Nurses Day is celebrated annually on May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), the founder of modern nursing. + The lamp is an internationally recognized symbol for nursing. Nightingale became known as "the Lady with a Lamp" for making her solitary rounds through the wards of wounded soldiers during the Crimean War late at night. While a British war correspondent first described Nightingale in the press making such rounds, it was the American writer Henry Wadsworth Longfellow who popularized the image in his poem “Santa Filomena” which appeared in the first issue of The Atlantic Monthly in November 1857. St. Philomena—to give the more common English spelling—was an early Christian/Roman era virgin martyr invoked by the sick. + Also available as oversized and standard greeting cards. + Image Credit (Nursing Lamp): Public Domain Clip Art Image by bedpanner, courtesy of the Open Clip Art Library.

Zazzle is so easy to use for all of my advertising needs and personal needs from yard signs, to coffee mugs to personalized tee shirts! And, the shipping is always fast. No long periods of waiting. And, I signed up for $9+ yearly shipping and now I don't have to pay anymore for shipping for the entire year! The printing was beautiful on this sign and all of the items I have ordered from Zazzle in the past! Nothing could be easier and no one could be faster!

Creator Review
Flag bracket is super easy to assemble. There is a prong fork that goes into the ground. I dug a shallow hole to bury the prongs and still had enough height. Reinforced stitching on for the flag opening. Colors are true to the website. Mona Lisa's sign with the text is easy to read, the text is clear and not blurry. I am very happy with this yard sign.

Garden Flag
My neighbor was in tears when she saw this beautiful flag in the garden she started in memory of her beloved Boxer/Mastiff. I loved being able to easily personalize it with 2 different looks. No matter which side is facing forward, Blue is looking toward her home of the past 12 years.
