Found in a late 19th century German language series of prints, and captioned ‘Schweizerische aus dem Jahr 1600,’ .i.e. Swiss dating to the year 1600. A fantastic image that looks equally fantastic on all kinds of EVERYTHING, including mugs. Note that the print appears on both sides of the mug, in mirror image. Which is nice. Wanna see more old?
