Ad Vitam Eternam Coffee Mug

Watercolor Painting I named this abstract painting Ad Vitam Eternam, in Latin, which means “Unto life Eternal.” People who have had near death experiences often speak of being engulfed in a bright light. Since the full spectrum of light contains every color in the rainbow I wanted to render the entrance into the after life like being swallowed up by a burst of light. For those who are in Christ I imagine the passage into the marvelous light of the Lord’s presence will be more like being enveloped in an explosion of color rather than simply walking through a tunnel of white light surrounded by total darkness. Les gens qui ont fait l'expérience d'une mort clinique racontent souvent qu'ils ont été attirés dans une lumière très vive. Et comme le spectre de la lumière contient toutes les couleurs de l'arc en ciel, j'ai voulu rendre l'entrée dans la vie future sous la forme d'un jaillissement de lumière. J'imagine que, pour ceux qui sont en Christ, l'arrivée dans la merveilleuse lumière de la présence du Seigneur ressemblera plus à une explosion de couleurs qu'à un simple passage à travers un tunnel de lumière blanche entouré d'une complète obscurité.
