In the Victorian era the Pit Bull was known as the 'Nanny Dog' chosen for their protective instincts to guard the family and their children. The Black Cat got its bad rap from folklore and fairy tales. The White Rabbit is seen as not attractive enough; add the red eyes and now you have 'evil' looking when in fact they are the sweetest, smartest and most gentle of all the rabbits.
