Based on a common military award the Combat Fisherman Badge commemorates surviving combat fishing in Alaska. A black line-drawing, "subdued" version of the full-color Combat Fisherman Badge. It features a Sockeye Salmon over a conifer branch wreath. Text reading "ALASKA" is located at the top of the image. Customize by adding your own additional text on both front and back. Salmon fishing is extremely popular in Alaska, too popular. Thousands of anglers, almost shoulder to shoulder, line both banks of salmon streams, each trying to catch a big fish while trying to keep his line from tangling with those of everyone else. Tempers can flare. This is called combat fishing.
