All Aboard Ornament Each year, I choose one of my paintings to become a Christmas ornament, and this ornament features my original painting, “All Aboard.” Anyone who knows me knows I have always loved history, vintage treasures, and stories from the past. This painting was inspired by an old slide of my grandparents from the early 1950s, capturing a moment from the golden age of railroad travel. The scene depicts passengers gathering beside a train at a small-town station, dressed in the elegant fashions of the era. During those years, train travel represented adventure, opportunity, and the excitement of discovering new places. The station buzzes with anticipation as families say goodbye, travelers begin new journeys, and memories are quietly made. As I painted, I imagined the conversations, the excitement, and the dreams carried aboard those trains. The station itself stands as a reminder of a time when travel was as much about the journey as the destination. This ornament celebrates not only the rich history of America’s railroads but also the stories of ordinary people whose lives were connected by them. For me, it is especially meaningful because it preserves a small piece of my family’s history and honors a generation whose stories continue to inspire me.
