The pre-Christian Slavic calendar was deeply rooted in the natural cycles of the seasons, celestial events, and agricultural rhythms, reflecting the Slavic people’s close connection to nature. Unlike the modern Gregorian calendar, the Slavic calendar was lunisolar, combining lunar phases with solar cycles, and was often divided into 12 months, each tied to specific deities, rituals, or seasonal activities. Months were named after natural phenomena or agricultural tasks, such as "Berezen" (March, meaning "birch") or "Lypen" (July, meaning "linden"). The calendar also featured significant festivals, like the celebration of Jarilo, the god of spring and fertility, marking the renewal of life. Ancient Slavs used wooden or stone carvings, often circular in design, to track time, with symbols representing the sun, moon, and stars—elements echoed in the intricate ornamentation on this throw pillow.

This is one of the most comfortable throw pillows I have ever had. It is so incredibly soft. Everyone in the family fights over who gets to use it, even the dog. Most of the other pillows end up on the floor when she gets on the couch but not this one. She loves it too! The photos turned out great on this pillow. I'd definitely purchase another one.
