Antique Art Glass Aqua Teal Blue Jewel Shell

When I started taking pictures of my large collection of vintage mercury glass Christmas ornaments I realized that the beauty of the colors and details are often lost when seen on the tree. The glass blowers of old were so skilled, unlike contemporary mercury glass, which is thick and clunky, the genuine old beauties are light as air - it's a miracle they've survived. Even the colors they chose were richer and more like little jewels. I've collected vintage mercury glass Christmas ornaments for many years and they are becoming very very scarce. So I thought it would be a wonderful experience to share them with you on these cards, up close, as you have perhaps never seen them. This one is in a rare color, a beautiful aqua, and the glass is patterned which makes it even more rare, this ornament most likely is from pre-war Germany.
