Antique Blackthorn Botanical Print Flower Berry Wrapping Paper

Antique Blackthorn Botanical Print Flower Berry Wrapping Paper

The Blackthorn print is a detailed antique botanical drawing of a blackthorn bush created in the 1800s. The botanical print includes the long thorns, leaves, flowers, and fruit of the blackthorn shrub, also known as the prunus spinosa. The blackthorn flowers are a beautiful little white flower, while the fruit looks like a small prune. Beautiful, antique botanical print has a warm feel, perfect for a classic room décor. The Prunus spinosa is a shrub with heavy-duty thorns. The blackthorn is used in Northern Europe and Britain to make hedges for cattle. This antique botanical print shows the blackthorn fruit, or prunus spinosa, which is similar to a small plum, apparently used for preserves. Blackthorn supposedly makes great firewood, and the prunus spinosa is also a traditional wood in making canes.

I am making a line of mini (27 inches) 1950's retro dresses. I have used this paper and overlaid it with with Sanwa Tissue paper airbrushed to match. I am pleased with the way it turned out and now have ordered other papers to use in my paper dress collection. The color was solid and well absorbed
