We are pleased to bring you this striking design by Christopher Dresser in several colors. Originally produced by Minton Tile Company in England. Minton was considered one of the premier ceramics manufacturers of the mid-19th through early 20th centuries. Christopher Dresser was born in Glasgow Scotland in 1834 and died in 1904. He was a designer, lecturer, author, and theorist, artist, and botanist who is considered one of the pioneers of “modern” design. Dresser was one of the driving forces of the aesthetic movement and a major contributor to the Anglo-Japanesque style of the late 1800s. Many of his designs feature stylized designs from nature, reflecting his training in both art and botany. These tiles marry his interest in art, design and plants beautifully.
