Apple Orchard Outhouse Invitation
Outhouses used to be in just about everybody’s backyard. The privy was a place no one really wanted to go to but out of necessity visited daily. The outhouse has earned its place in Americana. Over the years there have been lots of nicknames for the outhouse, such as john, crapper, potty, and privy. It was never really considered a bathroom or restroom for washing was done in the house. Words such as water closets and toilets along with bathroom now referred to rooms in which one can wash and go to the toilet. Lots of pranks and jokes focus on the outhouse. Almost everyone enjoys funny stories about the privy. Call it what you will, commode, potty, toilet, restroom or bathroom I would imagine you have found humor and talking about them. Especially nostalgic stories from older generations referring to outhouses, the privy, john and the crapper. This outhouse image is part of a collection of best seller images of Americana art belonging to an on going series of images of farms, sewing machines, outhouses, schoolhouses, churches, barns, birds, lighthouses plus Amish landscapes, buggies, and buildings created by Richard Neuman in his rural studio near McComb, Ohio. For 50 years Richard’s art has been continually evolving. During most of his early Americana work he used pens, brushes and watercolors. Each barn painting in this farm art series was created this way. Today he creates the images in these series using a computer. Richard has recently converted the Americana originals into digitized art of very high quality. In his studio many steps using Photoshop and several other computer art programs are blended together with fifty years of art experience to create this outhouse image for you to enjoy in your bathroom, water closet, restroom, or yes, even as wall décor in the outhouse, privy, john or crapper.

I am absolutely in love with the way my invites looks, the mom was unbelievably surprised and grateful. We were wary of sending off for a mail in shower, but step one was to personalize it... we started with these invitations. The printing was great; no errors... HOWEVER the writing on the back of the invitation turned out upside down... I’m a bit persnickety, so this bothered me.
The writing on the back appeared to be right-side-up on the preview, so this is something I’ll have to look into more carefully when using zazzleblack.

This is the second time I’ve ordered, and it’s just as good as the first. Thick, high quality paper stock, small enough so that it fits in with shipping small paintings, and what I like the most is that it comes with advice on how to care for the painting which is so valuable since many buyers aren’t aware of. I prefer a minimalist look, so I skipped any logos and all the printing was in black. The printing quality was excellent.
