Hikers are seen on the trail up ahead. This is the Treasure Loop Trail in the Lost Dutchman State Park in Apache Junction, Arizona, just east of Phoenix. The Superstition Wilderness, which is part of the Tonto National Forest, is a popular hiking destination for winter visitors and locals alike. The German prospector Jacob Waltz, AKA The Dutchman, is said to have stashed a fortune in gold somewhere in these mountains, and treasure hunters continue to search for it to this day.
