2012 is the 150th Birthday Anniversary year of Gustav Klimt. Celebrations worldwide and in Vienna mean Klimt's work, while always world famous, is growing in the eyes of the general public today. There is a surge of awareness of the Art Nouveau or Jugendstil movements from the turn of the twentieth century. Klimt was appreciated by the avante garde. That fits today, too.
Museums and cities all around the world are celebrating Klimt's 150th birthday anniversary with special exhibits and events. No where are the celebrations so great as in Vienna for their Austrian Secessionist son was born and worked there.
