Art nouveau, Nestle baby food by Alphonse Mucha Postcard

Art nouveau, Nestle baby food by Alphonse Mucha Postcard

Art nouveau, Nestle baby food by Alphonse Mucha, Alphonse Mucha (1860 - 1939), born Alfons Maria Mucha in the present-day Czech Republic, was a key figure in the Art Nouveau movement. His talent for singing carried him through school, but drawing was his real passion. Mucha received formal training at Munich Academy of Fine Arts and eventually moved to Paris to continue his studies. Paris is where he met Sarah Bernhardt, who was a famous actress in the late 1800s. He created a myriad of different posters for plays in which she was performing. The Gismonda art poster was his first, which sealed the contract between the artist and the actress. He regularly created drawings featuring lush floral backgrounds and beautiful women, such as Le Fleur 1899, Jour and Matin. Moon is another art print that remains popular today. During his life, Mucha created paintings, illustrations, advertisements, jewelry designs and postcards. He remained loyal to his Czech heritage and eventually settled in Prague. When Czechoslovakia won its independence, he was chosen to design the postage stamps and money. After his death, Mucha's son spent much of his time keeping his father's legacy alive by writing about him and his art. The art works our members like the most, available as art prints, posters and framed prints: 1. Moon, 2. Papier a Cigarette Job, c.1897, 3. Amants, 4. La Dame Aux Camelias, 5. Bieres De La Meuse.

I joined Postcrossing a few months ago and wanted postcards to represent my state well. I found them on Zazzle. I purchased numerous cards and was impressed with all of them. Excellent! The colors are beautiful. The cards have the exact look I wanted. I couldn't be happier.
