Assumption of the Virgin Giovanni Battista Lenardi Notebook

Baroque Christian Painting "The Assumption of the Virgin with St. Anne and St. Nicholas of Myra" by Giovanni Battista Lenardi (1656-1704), an Italian painter from Rome. This masterpiece is hung in the Church of San Giuseppe dei Falegnami, near the Roman Forum. It represents the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary by the Angels, celebrated the 15th of August. At the right, we can see saint Anne, the mother of Saint Mary, the Mother of God. In the front, we can see saint Nicholas of Myra, the model for Santa Claus, celebrated the 6th of December, before Christmas.
