'Autism A Kids' Mens Basic T-Shirt, White* T-Shirt

‘Autism A Kids’ is a new range of clothing featuring 'My Son' . Autism is a huge thing in our house! We are parents of two Autistic kids with ADHD, OCD and trauma related stress. We have looked at designs of Autism T-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts for us as a family to wear while we are out to explain and advise society that our Autistic family is different and unpredictable. However, for us, most T-shirts, baseball caps and backpacks did not meet the message our family wanted to convey. We needed to empower not apologise for Autism. We feel our Autistic A Kids are special and have hidden superpowers that we need to embrace and celebrate so decided to design our own brand. The Autism A Kids design has two blue lines behind the A to signify the lining up that most Autistic kids need to do to put things in order. The wings symbolise the 'stimming' or flapping or flying for self-regulation that both our kids present. The eye signifies the eye contact that parents of Autistic kids crave from them. We acknowledge that blue is associated with 'Light Up Blue Autism Awareness Day' while the child image symbolises that society cannot tell on appearance alone that our children are special. We thought long and hard of a logo that represents our Autistic kids and their similarities with superheroes and celebrate their uniqueness of superhuman talents that our Autistic kids can display ( in no way are we affiliated with the Xmen!) :-) We want positivity, empowerment and pride for mums, dads, grandparents, brothers and sisters of Autism and found it very difficult to find many positive posts on the internet that empower Autism. We also prefer to say Autistic Spectrum Condition or ASC rather than Autistic Spectrum Disorder or ASD to keep the positivity going! There is no cure for Autism but perhaps we can cure discrimination towards Autism and Autistic kids.
