Badlands Jigsaw Puzzle

The natural beauty of the badlands is put on display in this photo. Badlands National Park is located in South Dakota and is a geologic wonder of eroding buttes, spires and pinnacles. Colorful bands of rock strata make up a panoramic view of the rugged landscape as the sun casts shadows that fill the crevasses, fissures and cracks. Parallel striations and ridges paint the landscape in layers of reds, browns, tans, and grey colors resulting in a spectacular view of the rocky outcropping of rocks. The green of mixed grass prairie of the National Grasslands is visible in the foreground. Traces of white clouds can be seen in a clear blue sky.
