Baldwin- Reading Railroad Locomotive 2124
From www.railphotoexpress.biz-- Originally built in 1924, by Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-10a 2-8-0 road #2044 Converted to T-1 Class in 1947, by the Reading Railroad Appeared in the opening scene of the film "From the Terrace" with Joanne Woodward. This portion of the 20th Century Fox film was shot in the Jersey City Terminal on December 2, 1959, less than a month after the first three Iron Horse Rambles.
It was used on the Reading Rambles from 1959 through 1961 and pulled its last Reading Ramble on October 22, 1961 and was retired and sold to "Steamtown" on July, 1963. Declared to be restorable but only cosmetically restored in 1997 and is on static display at Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton Pennsylvania.
