About This Design

Barbara Shapiro/Elizabeth Runyon Mug

Barbara Shapiro/Elizabeth Runyon Mug

National Basketry Organization put out a call for close up (detail) images of their members basketry work in August 2020. Out of the almost 300 images 24 were picked. The result was that two 2021 calendars were created from the selected images to be able to show the extraordinary work of our members. This mug is a mashup of Barbara Shapiro’s Sedori Vessel and Elizabeth Runyon’s No Exit detail images from their baskets.

This is a gorgeous mug that makes me feel as though I am outdoors in my Hosta garden, on a beautiful day in Spring! The printing is lovely and sharp just like my painting. I shall be displaying this mug at an exhibition soon!
