Barn Swallow Birds Wooden Wall Art

Here, in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, Virginia not far from "Almost Heaven" West Virginia , my family owned a farm. I was 14 at the time and my sister, Sarah was 15. It was here my sister and I were blessed to enjoy the simple glories of country life. They were fond memories that continue to fuel the wonderous magic i like to keep alive in my paintings to this day. This painting of two barn swallows is part of a series of work i call "My Heaven's Gate" which is an expression of gratitude to all species of birds, our majestic Kings and Queens of the skies. I watched the swallows in my barn soar and race in pairs in and out of the stalls, caring for their young. Our barn also housed a few farm animals (pets) that my Father would randomly surprise us with when folks still traded livestock for a down payment on a car. Swallows are amazing if you can stop for a moment and absorb their swift and precise maneuvers at high speeds. They are flawless in their art of just being and living, chattering away at each other endlessly. Catching mayflies and other assorted bugs tirelessly in mid air to feed their families , keeping their species strong and alive for many more years to come. We have so much to learn from the barn swallow as we do from all blessed creatures of the Earth. Please enjoy this painting with the light, love, and appreciation that I put into creating it!
