Beaufort Castle – Clan Fraser Watch
Beaufort Castle is the traditional seat of the Lords Lovat of the Fraser clan, being inherited by Simon Fraser, 11th Lord Lovat (c.1667–1747), in 1699. Located near Beauly in Inverness-shire, northern Scotland, the current structure is a Baronial style mansion built in 1880, but incorporates older building work. There has been a castle on the site since the 12th century.
