Beautiful madonna Jesus blessing Franz Ittenbach Postcard

Postcard inspired by a beautiful madonna painting by German artist Franz Ittenbach (Madonna and child, circa 1862). The painting shows Mary and Jesus high above the earth, surrounded by clouds and a bright yellow light. Mary is wearing a blue dress (blue is the color of purity) and a crown adorned with 12 stars. She is holding the baby Jesus in her arms, and the child is raising his right hand in a blessing. Ittenbach painted in a precise realistic style, in the the tradition of the Nazarene school. The Nazarenes, a group of German painters, also aimed to revive spirituality in art. If you look closely at the painting, especially at the faces of Mary and Jesus, I think you can actually see that Franz Ittenbach was a religious painter.
