Berthe Morisot - Eugene Manet on the Isle of Wight Tapestry

Eugène Manet on the Isle of Wight (Eugène Manet à l'île de Wight), painted in 1875 in oil on canvas by French Impressionist painter Berthe Morisot. The painting shows the artist's husband in profile beside a window during their honeymoon in England. Painted at Globe Cottage in Cowes, the scene shifts attention from Eugène toward the flower garden, quays and boats beyond the glass, where Morisot explored reflections, transparency and changing light.
