Berthe Morisot - In a Park / Dans le parc Large Clock

In a Park (Dans le parc / Sur la pelouse), created around 1874 in pastel on paper by Berthe Morisot, is an Impressionist family scene portraying her sister Edma Pontillon at rest in tall grass with her two young daughters, Jeanne and Blanche, the family dog close by and a butterfly net lying in the grass. Edma had trained and exhibited alongside Berthe as a painter before abandoning her artistic ambitions after her marriage in 1869, making this quiet scene of maternal care especially resonant within the sisters' shared history. Morisot's loose, luminous pastel handling blends the figures into dense green vegetation and summer foliage, giving the everyday moment an intimate, secluded warmth.

Great price for a very nice product. Arrived a day early - unheard of these days. The outside gold area has a little more orange tone to it than shown in the picture. Great packing so product can't get damaged. I used the same packing to forward the clock to my brother and sister-on-law for the 50th wedding anniversary. Printing was just as expected - lovely!
