Frogs and other amphibians are associated with elemental magic because they live in both Earth and Water environments, and also with transformation magic as they change from swimming larvae, such as tadpoles, to adults that are mobile on land. In folklore and ancient medicine, the frog relates to organic health in part due to its highly sensitive skin, which was often used by shamans in medicine rites.
