Bike for Conscience 2015 Tour T-shirt

BikeForConscience.org 2015 Bicycle Tour Shirt Honoring some of the unsung heroes of the people's history of Oklahoma Clara Luper, Andy Stapp, Darrell Merrell, Stanley Rother, Kate Barnard, Carrie Dickinson, Johannes Klaasen and the Oklahoma Book Trial Defendants of 1940. More about these heroes: Clara Luper - Educator, and pioneer of Nonviolent Civil Disobedience for desegregation and civil rights in Oklahoma City. Author of the book “Behold these Walls” Andy Stapp - Anti-Vietnam war active-duty organizer at Ft. Sill, Founded American Servicemen’s Union at Fort Sill, author of the book “Up Against the Brass” Darrell Merrell - “The Tomato Man” of Tulsa, he introduced a new generation to almost lost heirloom varieties of tomatoes, peppers, and garlic. Stanley Rother - Catholic Priest from Okarche who returned to his congregation in Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala despite having received death threats. He was later assassinated by right-wing death squads affiliated with the Guatemalan Army. Kate Barnard - The first woman elected to statewide office in USA, she was a strident advocate for prisoners, children, workers, and Indian Orphans. Carrie Barefoot Dickerson - Leader of civic engagement movement which fought (alongside a campaign of direct action) to successfully stop the Black Fox Nuclear Power Plant from being built in Inola. Johannes Klaasen - Mennonite from Bessie, Oklahoma who was given a 25 year prison sentence for refusing to wear a uniform or fight in World War I. He died in prison at Ft. Leavenworth. Oklahoma Book Trial Defendants of 1940 - More than a dozen were arrested at the Progressive Book Shop in Oklahoma City in 1940 for violating the state’s unconstitutional “criminal syndicalism” law. Bob & Inola Wood, Eli Jaffe, & Alan Shaw were convicted in a show trial in Oklahoma County which focused on their membership in the Communist Party and their belief in desegregation, receiving sentences of 10 years in prison. After national outcry, they later won on appeal to the Oklahoma Supreme Court, which established important case law on First Amendment Protections in Oklahoma. Net profits from this shirt will help to fund expenses for the 2015 Bike For Conscience Tour with any remainder going to the important work of the Center for Conscience in Action. Have had Zazzle complete a number of T-shirt projects in the past. This one had several design elements. It was well done. I will work with Zazzle again.

The T shirt seems to be made from decent material but appears to be an irregular t-shirt sewn and stitched. .
