This amazing American type akita is named Kuma. Kuma’s sweetness shines from his eyes, his gentle expression was always mesmerizing, his amazing black muzzle and pale tan fur was such a pleasure to paint. Kuma’s portrait has a green background to emphasize his akita unique colours. This extra special dog was one of my early pet portraits and I painted him in soft pastels. What a wonderful breed the Japanese akita dog is, loyal and very smart as well as being extraordinarily beautiful dogs. Akita's are also very independent large dogs with big hearts. Kuma the big gentle akita boy makes a lovely and original art card and is suitable for all occasions and the card has been left blank for your own message.
