Black Friesian Horse In Snow Watch

Friesian is a horse breed originating in Friesland, in the Netherlands. During the Middle Ages these graceful and nimble creatures were in great demand as war horses throughout continental Europe which enabled them to carry a knight in armour. By the Late Middle Ages the breed nearly became extinct on more than one occasion as they where of a light draught horse and heavier, draught type animals were needed. Now used both in harness and under saddle the breed is being introduced to the field of dressage.
