A black hole accretion disk spins in the depths of interstellar space in this NASA illustration. Nothing, even light, can escape the singularity once pulled-in. Scientists theorize that spinning black holes can form worm holes with possible transportation to other universes or different times. Many galaxies have supermassive black holes at their centers, some of which feed on stars as well as cosmic dust and gas.
