Black Mexican Apron
Mexico's Day of the Dead: A joyous celebration of life and death Contrary to what one might think, Mexico's Day of the Dead is far from a gloomy celebration. Rather, it is an opportunity to gather with family and friends to honor the memory of their deceased. This ancestral tradition, combining indigenous beliefs and Catholic influences, is generally held from November 1st to 2nd. The main features of this celebration are: The altars: At the heart of this celebration are the altars of death, decorated with photos of the deceased, their favorite objects, food, drinks and flowers of cempasúchil (a very characteristic orange flower). These altars serve as a bridge between the world of the living and that of the dead. Visits to cemeteries: Families go to the graves of their loved ones to clean them, decorate them and spend time together. The atmosphere is often joyful, with music, food and candles. Food: Food plays an essential role in this celebration. The favorite dishes of the deceased are prepared and placed on the altars. Soul bread (pan de muerto), skull sugar (calaveras de azúcar) and tamales are often found. Costumes: Mexicans like to dress up as skeletons or macabre characters for the occasion. Children often dress up as catrinas or catrins, elegant and colorful skeletons. Parades: Many cities organize parades where participants are dressed and giant representations of skeletons float. The origin of this festival The roots of the Fête des Deaths date back to pre-Columbian civilizations. The Aztecs, for example, believed that death was a necessary step to reach paradise. With the arrival of the Spaniards, this tradition has mingled with Catholic beliefs, notably the feast of All Saints. Why is this party important? The Day of the Dead is an opportunity for Mexicans to strengthen their family ties, pass on their traditions from generation to generation and celebrate life, even in the face of death. It is a celebration that allows you to remember your loved ones who died with joy and affection. In short, Mexico's Day of the Dead is a unique celebration that combines tradition, joy and respect for the dead. It is a celebration that shows the cultural richness of Mexico and that fascinates the whole world.

I took this picture while visiting Venice. I just love how it came out on the apron. Apron is well made & washes beautifully. I wear it all the time. .

All-Over Print Apron, Small
My granddaughter won a ribbon on her Hibiscus painting, so when we sat down to customize an apron-she chose that photo. She is enjoying her personalized apron & has created a cookbook with the same design. Grammy Camp was a huge success. Could not have been more pleased-we have memories to cherish. Thank You Zazzle!

Great color and even though I ordered the kid size, it covers well enough to use during the holidays. I am not a big woman and prefer a shorter apron. I stand 5"6" and the length of the garment goes to mid-thigh. The tie straps fit well at my waist and even though there is no neck strap adjustment, the opening is plenty big enough. I am happy with the size and fit. I am sharing my apron with my 10 year old grandson, too! The color is vibrant and looks good, as shown on the website. The stitching looks strong and reinforced. Photographed is front side and back side of the apron, reinforced straps and coloring. My phone camera may not be the best at showing the details.
