Very nice quality, customizable marble coaster. The background states black, but it it almost a charcoal dark gray which was even better. My daughter's bedroom colors at college are grays and teals. Heavy and backed with cork so nice furniture won't be scratched. I can't speak to the absorbency as it is still wrapped up to be given as a gift. I am very pleased with the printing. A classic yet modern look.
