Blue Angel Zink Statue postcard

this lovely blue angel postcard is a zink cemetery statue I found on one of my many trips thru Ohio's forgotten cemeteries. These headstones/monuments are unique because they were sold door to door here in America. Their blue coloration results from the their zink surface lightly oxidizing over time and then deteriates no more, giving zink statues their enduring grey to blue powdery look. They are lightweight compared to other statuary and resist the ravages of time very well. They were cast in parts and then bolted together which is one of their only weak points as the bolts are often regular iron/steel and sometimes fail. They are fascinating headstones and some of my personal favorites to find.
