Blue Lace Hydrangea Wedding Magnet

Hydrangeas are often thought of as old-fashioned but are enjoying a resurgence. There are two basic kinds of flower heads – lacecap and mophead – and colors range from white to purple with pinks, blues, and strange “sports” included. They are considered shrubs and can get quite tall. Flowers in acid soils tend toward blue; neutral soils produce a creamy color, and base soils give pinks and purples. We were lucky to have the white Annabelle hydrangeas in our yard when we bought the house 40+ years ago. This strain stays white, is super hardy, and is still glorious after all these years.
