Blue Red Gray Nautilus on Dusky Blue Throw Pillow

I love nautilus patterns, since their spiral, chambered shells remind me of infinity with its Fibonacci pattern. This watercolor-style nautilus image is illustrated in shades of blue, gray, and red. The word nautilus is derived from the Greek ναυτίλος nautílos and originally referred to the paper nautiluses called Argonauta, which are actually octopuses. The word nautílos literally means sailor, since these amazing sea creatures were originally thought to use two of their arms as sails. The nautilus is a marine mollusc that belongs to the cephalopod family Nautilidae. According to fossil records, animals similar to chambered nautiluses have existed for 500 million years or so. Unfortunately, the six living species of chambered nautilus appear to be in decline.
