This river is still traveled on today, though with less shotguns, probably. In the past they had to fend the boat off from alligators. Someone had to own up and be the person with the gun. So instead of relaxing, they got target practice. But whatever you shoot, you keep, so that's a pretty good deal.
The lady with the umbrella, seems to have caught a turtle, so that will make a nice souvenir...
