Buddha the Winner (Buddhist Art) (by Roerich) Magnet

This design features a painting by the Russian artist Nicholas Roerich (1874–1947). It shows the Buddha meditating in a cave with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites. The painting was inspired by the religious art of the East. Buddha means means the Fully Awakened One, and he achieved enlightenment by deep meditation; this is symbolized by the golden aura coming from his body. Buddha gave the teachings that developed into the philosophy and religion of Buddhism (the two major strands of the faith are known as Theravada and Mahayana). The original painting was produced in 1925, and it is now housed in the Roerich Museum, Moscow, Russia.
