Buffalo NY Cyclorama Building Pen and Ink Sketch Coffee Mug

Buffalo NY Cyclorama Building Pen and Ink Sketch Coffee Mug

The 1888 Cyclorama Building in downtown Buffalo was fashioned for a new kind of entertainment. The idea was to use panoramic imagery to allow people to experience things they never could experience otherwise. The Buffalo Cyclorama Company marked the opening of its new Buffalo building with "The Crucifixion of Christ," a massive and meticulously researched panoramic view of Jerusalem on that day by German artist William Wehner. "The Crucifixion of Christ" ran for two years, and was followed by another two-year exhibit, "The Battle of Gettysburg." Subsequently the cyclorama gradually fell out of fashion as it was replaced by newer forms of art and entertainment. Like virtually all iconic buildings in Buffalo, the Cyclorama Building had a few rough years. But it now stands proudly as a tribute to a brief and, dare we say, glorious moment in art history. Celebrate this circular building with a panoramic mug! The drawing circles the entire cup. I did this drawing on location right outside the Cyclorama Building, using the age-old artistic technique of ink and paper. The old is new again!

It is a lovely mug. The actual mug is shiny and smooth. Very nice quality. It was everything I expected. Zazzle has so many nice mid century modern designs to choose from. All so pretty! The design was very clear and looked expensive.

This design is full of browns, pinks, turquoise and more. Very contemporary with vivid geometric triangle shapes. Looks really great with our Mexican tile tables. Really stunning, modern pattern! The lines for each triangle are perfect. The colors are vivid and pop. Great Printing.
