Buffalo`s Erie Canal Harbor T-Shirt

This image represents the now developing Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf location, that at one time, way back in 1825, was the famous Western terminus of the just completed Erie Canal. Presently, the location has been partially "re-watered",(refering to the historic Commercial St. Slip),and some of the original canal district foundations have been dug up and cleaned for viewing. The old Canal side streets have been recreated with historicly appropriate cobblestones, and much of the surrounding area now has new grass, and two new restaurants. The re-use of this location, in my opinion, has been very successful. lots of pedestrian traffic goes through the area for scenic strolls, attending many free and ticketed music events and concerts. Many boaters pull up to a number of slips for events and refreshments. The area is still undergoing major changes and upgrades, and will likely attract both new vendors and events, and many more tourists and locals.
