Candy - Store - The future of chocolate 1895 Tissue Paper

Colorized photo from 1895 Original title: Theo. Hildebrand and Son Photographer: Detroit Publishing Location: 18 Pank Strasse, North Berlin, Germany This is the Theodore Hildebrand and Son, chocolate company. Established in 1817, in the center of Berlin. He was very advanced for his day, always looking toward the future. in 1830 he was the first to use steam engines. The factory became known as the "steam" chocolate factory. He was able to produce chocolates in larger quantities at a low price. But what made them really stand out, was a stunt he pulled in the worlds fair. In 1900, at the Paris World fair, he created a number of cards, each one depicting what life might be like in the year 2000. Each card was colorful and had a mix of steampunk like inventions making life easier. Some are actually kind of accurate. Moving sidewalks was his idea, personal submarines, fighting fires by air, moving houses by steam locomotive and so on, there were 12 cards in all. But to see each card, you had to buy 12 boxes of chocolate, because each box had a card. It's not known if the box was marked in some way. He sold a lot of chocolate. Enough that companies after that made their own set of future cards. In the scene there is a non described machine being used, its unknown what that is. Other than its probably some kind of chocolate making apparatus. Seeing all those chef's on location makes me think they made some of the candy in house.

Love this paper I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now and it’s perfect I love the colors. I love this print I put two of the same papers together because my project was a bit bigger than the papers I ordered, but it turned out absolutely beautiful. I love it.

Easy to work with, the colors were as shown online, the weight of the paper was nice. I turned an old refrigerator box into a bookshelf in a guest bedroom / reading room. The paper went on clean, the ink did not run when finish was applied. I love the way it turned out! Sharp, no muddied spots
