Carl Larsson Evening Meal Poster Fine Art Print

Carl Larsson Evening Meal Poster Fine Art Print

A charming portrait of an intimate winter's evening meal shared by brother and sister. I love the way the way the little boy's hair flies up as he blows on his soup. Description:Sister and brother share a simple winter's evening meal of bread and soup. The sense of intimacy is heightened by the long dining table obviously meant to accommodate a large family (and the Larsson family was indeed quite large!). It appears they are dining later than the rest of the family, perhaps having woken late from their naps, as the large serving bowl of soup is nearly empty, the loaf half gone, and there is evidence of previous diners in the form of crumbs scattered about the snowy white tablecloth. A small blue ink stain as leaves the viewer to surmise an elder sibling earlier labored over homework there while the wee ones were napping. The little girl, her hair held back from her face in a charming twisted braid, appears to be pondering some childhood curiosity as she speaks as her gaze is averted to side. Her little brother appears to be intently interested in whatever she is saying, his eyes focused directly on her face as he blows on his soup. Sprigs of evergreen and pussy willow arc gracefully from a vase on the table, with small pots of forced bulbs, white hyacinth and red tulip, on either side, giving the impression of late winter and a yearning for Spring. The point of view is low and intimate, at child height. The glow from an unseen lamp plays soft and warm on the distant end of the white-clad table. On the door are smudges at just the places one would expect to find them in a home filled with children. This is the full bleed (borderless version intended for use as a poster. A fine art print intended for matting and framing is available in my gallery's Art of Carl Larsson Collection. The white border on the print version makes the mounting and matting process easier if you plan on framing it. The default setting here is for the "basic" paper option. Do try out the other paper options and choose the one which suits your taste and budget. The papers with UV protection will give you a longer lasting print, one you can hand down in the family, and I would certainly recommend this option if you plan to hang the print in a sunny location. I would not choose the canvas option myself, as it is not in keeping with this print (the original being watercolour on paper, not oil on canvas). About the original work of art: Artist: Carl Larsson Title: Evening Meal Date: 1905 Medium: Watercolor About the artist:Carl Larsson, (b Stockholm, 28 May 1853; d Falun, 22 Jan. 1919) was a Swedish painter, illustrator, printmaker, and writer. His work included numerous portraits and book illustrations, as well as several large murals (the best known are those on Sweden's artistic history in the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, 1896). Sweden's most beloved artist, he is now remembered mainly for his watercolors of the idyllic life he enjoyed in his now-famous house in the village of Sundborn with his wife Karin and their eight children. In the words of a contemporary critic, "these are altogether charming -- spirited, vivid, original and full of an indescribable freshness and heartiness." This print was lovingly prepared for print by a professional graphic artist. This is an ultra-high-resolution file and will print beautifully even at the larger sizes. I have carefully corrected the "haze build up" (the smoke, grease and dust which eventually dulls the orignal artwork) in the manner of an art conservationist (but using digital means and state-of-the-art software) while retaining the charming patina of age. I have also carefully removed stains and fly specks here and there and stray marks incurred after it left the artist's hands, but left the artist's original pencil marks and tiny ink dots alone, as they are part of the original charm of the painting.

I was so amazed at how this all turned out. Everyone who attended the funeral was in awe of how beautiful it was made. And I owe it all to Zazzle. I wouldn’t have done it better myself not to mention I wouldnt have time to do it. The great part of it all was they had templates that was catered to my needs and that I could use it in ways I wanted to use to resize it my way. It took some time but I was happy it turned out great. I did 100 photos, 89, 66 photos (I think) lol templates. The only suggestion is that the templates, before sending through would tell you of errors like; saying please revise or resize it again for any photos that is not perfectly well sitting or not show it’s cutting off some of them and where it tells you there’s duplicates. Staring, placing and resizing all 100 + pictures into the template can be tiresome and overwhelming and it makes my eyes blurred that I can’t tell if they’re cutting off or overlapping or duplicates. Overall I am very pleased and will be using Zazzle again should the need arises. Thank you Zazzle. Altogether I’ve done 3 collages 1 profile picture and couple pictures with 1 frame and yet this is my first time ordering as a 1 time customer. Prices were very reasonable and accommodating to my finances. .

Fun bright artwork that really captures the mood I’m going for! Pop art with cyberpunk energy. A little sweet but also spicy. This art is the perfect size and vibe for our art gallery wall. The printing looks great, high quality with vibrant colors! I went with the semi-gloss finish, which adds a little extra shine and thickness to the print making it excellent for high-traffic areas like the staircase wall.
