Carved Polka Dot Zebra English Pub Beverage Coaster

This is a digital rendering of the sign hanging outside the world famous and entirely mythical Polka Dot Zebra pub in England. The sign, done in traditional style, features our polka-dotted, brown zebra "carved" or "engraved" o a bare woood background image. Zebras are not always born with black and white stripes, There are a number of mutations which can can cause variations on colour and form. In 2020 a young, "polka dot" Plains Zebra (Equus quagga), nicknamed Tira, was discovered in Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve. Tira's unusual appearance is the result of a rare mutation called pseudomelanism. Tira was the inspiration for our Polka Dot Zebra, an artist's conception of an adult animal with this colour variation.
