It looks like a plain black mug, but add some coffee and – magic – your funny design, cool pattern, or special photo is revealed. This mug turns heads. It is made with a special, heat-sensitive coating, so, when any hot liquid is added, it changes color to reveal your design against a bright, white background. It may seem simple, but, trust us, a morphing mug never fails to surprise and delight.

CBC 1958 Logo Color Morph Mug

Created by Jean-Paul Boileau, who constructed scale models used in Radio-Canada productions. CBC / Radio-Canada had to redesign their logo to conform to television standards and wanted to convey the CBC brand in a global context while highlighting the public broadcaster's national importance. Used between 1958 - 1966. Special coverage in the 1950s inlcudes the four-week visit of Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh and being the host broadcaster for the Commonwealth Games in Vancouver.

Our art student kid wanted to get dad something special for Christmas and we thought a morphing mug! Once the Sencha tea leaves art (my husband's fav tea) was completed, we uploaded to Zazzle (easy), and positioned the design (easy). Then got the mug in just a few days! Because we chose the black cup morphing, we noticed that there's a strip of white by the handle. Ideally, we would have liked the entire cup black, but overall, we love it and so did my husband! Would buy again, but maybe use a different background color. Awesome! Our kid's design of Sencha tea leaves turned out fabulous!
