Celtic Wolf Knotwork Triad Design
Richly intertwined Celtic knots creating the shape of a wolf and surrounded by a wreath of knots, in turn framed in more intricate patterns. A great piece of culture, history and heritage, all over a background of dark brown (chocolate) simulated old leather.
For ancient Celts, the wolf was a sacred animal. The wolf allowed one of the great Celtic heroes, Celtic, suckle from her, much like a wolf fed Romulus and Remus, the mythical founders of Rome. Celt regarded wolves, not as powerful hunters, but as symbols of intelligence and loyalty and as guides to the right path, mediators of transformation and companion for the deities of fertility, the Moon, nature and the underworld.
