Chakana Cross Lapel Pin
The word chakana comes from the Quechua word "chakay," meaning "to cross" or "to bridge." The chakana is not from Earth. It was born in and of itself, a gift to the Beings of Earth. The oldest chakana found to date was with the discovery of a temple in Caral, Peru which dates back to 5000 years ago. The Chavin culture who were more in-tuned with the uses of the chakana, lived in the central Andes a full two thousand years before the rise of the Incan Empire. The Incas simply adapted the chakana into their rituals and belief systems, as it did not originate with them. The chakana as it is now known has been found throughout the world in many different places, with many different interpretations of its meaning.

Round Lapel Pin, Silver Plated
One of our sons has lived in Canada for 20 years with his wife and three daughters. I wanted to wear an expression of unity with them and found this to be perfect for that purpose. Maple leaf in the fore with stars and stripes clearly not in a dominant role.

Good price for the quality. There is a little bit of a gap between the metal border and the face of the pin. Not really applicable. However, insignia is a little blurry.
