Chamois Goats in the French Alps Mountain Range Ceramic Tile

This design features a painting by Rosa Bonheur (1822–1899), who was a French artist best known as a painter of animals. It shows a group of chamois resting on a lofty mountain peak. Alpine chamois is a species of goat-antelope that is native to the mountains of Europe. Other mountains with snowy peaks can be seen in the distance through the clouds. The chamois appear to be very happy to relax and graze at the top of the mountain. The original art by Rosa Bonheur was painted in 1888.
